Since its establishment in 1910 Aberfeldie Bowls Club has enjoyed a long and proud history in the sport of bowls. The Forbes T. Wright Green has a synthetic surface which allows for year round bowling. The clubroom was rebuilt in 2003 and the modern facilities, including a managed bar, are ideal for hiring for special occasions and celebrations. Although a relatively small club with around 60 members, Aberfeldie Bowls Club is big in spirit and prides itself in its friendly and social atmosphere. The club is always keen to welcome new members from those wishing to try the sport through to seasoned bowlers.

In May 1928, Dave Lovie and George Baillie approached Bill Mitting with the idea of forming a Bowling Club in Black Rock. As a result, a Public Meeting with about 40 people present decided to form a Sporting Club to cater for Bowls, Tennis, and Croquet. After another 2 meetings, the Black Rock Bowling, Tennis and Croquet Club was formed, and land purchased in Fern Street for ‘1200 on a ’25 deposit. Work commenced immediately with clearing, ploughing and the laying of two asphalt and two gravel tennis courts.
