In 1924 the then Trustees of the Devonport Bowling and Tennis Club contracted with the Devonport Council to purchase on their behalf the present site and to construct thereon 3 tennis courts, one bowling green, one croquet lawn, a pavilion and dressing room. However, in 1925 the Devonport Croquet Club appeared with its own president and presumably its own identity although the records do not show precisely how this was achieved. The tennis courts have since been relocated and in 1997 the Bowls and Croquet Clubs amalgamated. Devonport Croquet offers social and competitive play in Association, Golf Croquet and Ricochet.

We share the hill with a tennis club, bowls club and the new aquatic centre. The position is within walking distance of the CBD and there are a number of very good B & Bs in the immediate vicinity.

It is affiliated with the Tasmanian Croquet Club Association Inc. The Club is located 12 km south of Hobart and it has 2 full size courts for play.

St Helens Croquet Club began in 2002. It is situated at the St Helens Sporting Complex on the northern side of town. The second croquet court was opened last year and was the result of major fund raising by the members. There had been a Croquet Club in St Helens as far as we can ascertain and this ceased to exist in the 1950s.
