    The Club was founded in 1985 by the late Dr John Gall. Originally meetings were held in a small hall (at the rear of the current library) in the centre of the village. The Club moved to its present venue at the new Community Centre when it opened in 1994. Initially there were around 12 regular members playing twice a week, but this quickly increased to around 16 players. Numbers have grown steadily over the years and we now have over 50 members and associate members.

Currently six daily sessions are held on every day except Sunday and there is an evening session on Monday.
