This Club continued successfully until the Border Collie members decided to form their own individual breed club which was affiliated with the KCC (now the Victorian Canine Association - VCA) in 1983. So there really is more to a silky than lovely long hair and looking glamorous. They are smart and intelligent. Training should start as early as 6 weeks. Obedience classes are held every weekend. The Chihuahua come in two varieties, Long and Smooth coat. A 1kg Chihuahua is very small, but will not fit into a tea-cup. Within the breed there is a great variation of size, just like any other breed of dog and for that matter, humans. The Chihuahua Club of Victoria is a friendly social club. Dai Ichi Snow Flurry was mated to Aust Ch Joynol Guido (NSW). The litter was registered under Mrs Howard's prefix 'Samakand'. The first meeting of the Maltese Club of Victoria was held in April 1967; convened by Mrs Hilda Dalziel, Mrs Eunice Cooper, Mrs J O'Connor and Mrs Trudy Pamment.
